FlashJava Player

For Flash to play as a java applet you need to upload some required class files to the server in addition to your swf files. You must also add the correct code to your HTML page and that is easy with Aftershock. Also note that only Flash 2 compatible files play with the current FlashJava class files. A Flash 2 version can be exported from Flash 3 if you don't use any Flash 3 or later features in your Flash movie.

To see a comparison of FlashJava to regular Flash go to our Flash Player Java Edition Test Page.

To allow Flash to play with the widest range of browsers you need to upload all the files in the folder:

Flash 3/Players/Flash Player Java
Flash.cab for MSIE 3/4 Win 95/98/NT
Flash.jar for Netscape 4
Flash.zip for Netscape 3
and 19 .class files for other browsers.

Flash Player Java Files in Zip Archive.

There is also a smaller set of FlashJava files that don't support sound or bitmaps but will reduce the download time when these features are not required. They are found in the folder:

Flash 3/Players/Flash Player Java/FlashSmall
FlashSmall.cab for MSIE 3/4 Win 95/98/NT
FlashSmall.jar for Netscape 4
FlashSmall.zip for Netscape 3
and 15 .class files for other browsers.
